Liverpool forward Luis Diaz is reportedly set to undergo surgery after suffering an injury setback.
The Colombia international has not appeared for the club since sustaining a knee injury during Liverpool's Premier League defeat to Arsenal on October 9.
Diaz stepped up his recovery earlier this week by returning to training at the start of the club's warm weather camp in Dubai.
However, the 25-year-old was forced to return to Liverpool for further assessment after complaining of pain in the same knee that he had injured against Arsenal.
According to the Liverpool Echo, Diaz is now expected to undergo surgery on Saturday, delaying his return to action.
The report claims that Diaz is set to be sidelined until March, which will come as a blow for Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp.
After facing Lyon and AC Milan in the Dubai Super Cup, Liverpool will face Manchester City in the League Cup on December 22, before they resume their Premier League campaign against Aston Villa on Boxing Day.
