Kenny Dalglish has praised the "belief" that his Liverpool players showed during this evening's Carling Cup tie at Stoke City.
The Reds trailed Stoke by a goal to nil at half-time, but two goals after the break from Luis Suarez saw the visitors move into the quarter-finals of the competition.
"We were good as well as patient. We had six chances in the first half and we came in one down," the boss told Sky Sports News. "So great credit to the boys that they kept the belief, they kept at it and a fantastic goal for Luis followed on with a smashing header as well.
"We're very pleased with the result."
Liverpool last won the League Cup in 2003.
