Sunday's Liverpool transfer talk news roundup: Jadon Sancho, Ismaila Sarr, Georginio Wijnaldum

Sports Mole rounds up the latest transfer talk for Liverpool on Sunday, January 3.

The January transfer window is now open, with Liverpool continuing to be linked with a host of big names.

Jurgen Klopp has been forced to contend with a crippling injury crisis during the first half of the season, leading to speculation that the Premier League champions could move for a new defender this month.

Here, Sports Mole rounds up the latest news on possible comings and goings from Anfield.

Sunday morning's Liverpool transfer talk news roundup:

Manchester United 'eyeing cut-price Jadon Sancho deal'

Manchester United are reportedly confident of signing Borussia Dortmund attacker Jadon Sancho for 'notably less' than £107m during this summer's transfer window.

The Red Devils were strongly linked with the England international over the summer but were not prepared to meet BVB's asking price for the former Manchester City youngster.

Sancho has struggled to show his best form for Dortmund this season, failing to score in 11 Bundesliga appearances, although he has contributed four goals and eight assists in 18 outings in all competitions.

According to 90min, United are not concerned by the 20-year-old's form this term and are confident of signing him for less than £100m ahead of the 2021-22 campaign.

Sancho's contract at Signal Iduna Park still has another two and a half years left to run, meaning that his Bundesliga side will not be under huge pressure to sell in the summer window.

However, Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano recently said that he expects the Englishman to move to the Premier League in 2021.

Chelsea and Liverpool are also thought to be interested in a player who has scored 38 goals and registered 51 assists in 117 appearances since arriving at Dortmund in 2017.

Liverpool, Manchester United preparing January offers for Ismaila Sarr?

Liverpool and Manchester United could reportedly reignite their interest in Watford attacker Ismaila Sarr during the January transfer window.

The 22-year-old was strongly linked with a move away from the Hornets during the summer, but the deadline passed with the Senegal international still at Vicarage Road.

Liverpool and United were both believed to be interested in signing Sarr last summer, and according to The Athletic, the pair could make January offers for the versatile attacker.

The report claims that Watford are keen to keep hold of the former Metz youngster but would listen to offers of between £40m and £50m.

Sarr has scored four times and registered five assists in 17 Championship appearances during the 2020-21 campaign.

The attacker also impressed during his only season in the Premier League, contributing five goals and six assists in 28 appearances for relegated Watford.
