Brendan Rodgers reveals that defender Daniel Agger should be fit for this weekend's Premier League opening clash against Stoke City.

Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers has confirmed that defender Daniel Agger should be fit to feature in this Saturday's Premier League opener against Stoke City.

The centre-back, along with Martin Skrtel, was absent for the Reds' pre-season 1-0 defeat to Celtic last weekend with minor injuries.

"We've had one or two items, the likes of Daniel [Agger] and Martin Skrtel, but by the weekend, we should be fine," Rodgers said in a press conference.

It emerged this week that Agger was the subject of a rejected bid from Barcelona.
