Former Liverpool striker John Aldridge has revealed that he feels embarrassed by the club's recent performances.
The Reds have lost five of their last six league matches, leaving them closer to the relegation zone than a Champions League place.
Reflecting on Liverpool's performances in 2012, Aldridge believes that the team have become a "laughing stock".
"To have picked up just eight points out of 36 since the turn of the year is shambolic. That's relegation form," said Aldridge. "The fact that this is the worst run in the league since 1954 speaks volumes. We're becoming a laughing stock.
"At the moment being a Liverpool fan is just embarrassing and that's something I haven't had to say before."
Aldridge won one league title during his two-year stint at Anfield.
