Allen: 'Recent form hasn't been good enough'

Liverpool midfielder Joe Allen has admitted that his recent performances for the Reds haven't been good enough.

The Welshman moved to Brendan Rodgers's side for £15m last summer but since the start of the year he's found life tough going at Anfield and has lost his starting place to Jordan Henderson.

He told reporters: "Everyone knows my form hasn't been great. It's been disappointing not to have been involved in every game.

"But it's up to me now to work hard and get myself back in the team and improve my level of performance."

The 22-year-old has made 31 appearances for Liverpool this season in all competitions, scoring one goal in the FA Cup against Oldham Athletic.
