Former Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher has heaped praise on the team following their 3-0 victory over Manchester City this evening.
The Reds bounced back from their League Cup final defeat to the same opposition just three days before to cruise past Manuel Pellegrini's title hopefuls courtesy of goals from Adam Lallana, James Milner and Roberto Firmino.
Carragher believes that the tone was set inside the opening seconds, when Jon Flanagan put in a heavy challenge on Raheem Sterling, who was making his first return to Anfield since his acrimonious departure last summer.
Great result & performance from LFC. The game was won with Flanno's 1st tackle on you know who!

The win sees Liverpool climb back into the top half of the table, with six points now separating them from the Champions League places.
