Dalglish: Suarez "emotional" at support

Kenny Dalglish says that Luis Suarez feels "very grateful" for the backing from his Liverpool teammates.

Kenny Dalglish has admitted that Luis Suarez is "very grateful" for the support that his Liverpool teammates have shown his since being found guilty of racially abusing Manchester United defender Patrice Evra.

The Reds came under criticism for wearing t-shirts before their match against Wigan Athletic, displaying an image of the striker with his name and number seven emblazoned on the back.

"I think the club have issued a statement, the players have made their statement both visually and verbally," said Dalglish. "I think it's best for everybody to wait and see what the written [judgement from the FA] is."

When asked how Suarez has responded to the support from his teammates, Dalglish said: "Quite emotional and very grateful. I don't think it's ever disappointing when your teammates give you the undivided support, and for me that's the least he deserves."

The Uruguay international is permitted to play for Liverpool until the Football Association release their written reasons behind the verdict and the Merseyside club lodge a possible appeal.
