Kenny Dalglish backs Liverpool owners to get it right

Kenny Dalglish urges Liverpool fans to back the next Reds manager following the sacking of the Scotsman.

Kenny Dalglish believes that Liverpool's American owners Fenway Sports Group will take the club forward, despite getting sacked from the Merseyside outfit.

The Scotsman was let go from Anfield yesterday following a dire Premier League campaign, which resulted in eighth place for the Reds.

"I would hope nobody would prejudge things now," Dalglish told the Liverpool Echo. "The owners have their own reasons for doing what they have done.

"They came in to help the club at a time when it wasn't in a great condition. They have improved it, taken it forward and are doing the best they can.

"Liverpool is still a great football club, still a club that should believe in whoever is going to come in after myself."

Andre Villas-Boas, Roberto Martinez, Brendan Rodgers and Rafael Benitez have been touted as possible candidates to take the vacancy.
