Spurs assistant manager Kevin Bond admits that English duo Jermain Defoe and Aaron Lennon may struggle to make Monday's trip to Anfield.

Tottenham Hotspur assistant manager Kevin Bond has said that Jermain Defoe and Aaron Lennon are major doubts for Monday's Premier League game against Liverpool.

The pair missed Spurs' 3-1 victory over Wigan on Tuesday after picking up hamstring problems in the narrow FA Cup win over Watford.

Tottenham travel to Anfield on Monday and a win will see them edge ever nearer to securing Champions League football for next season, but Bond admits that the England duo may struggle to be fit.

"Aaron and Jermain are being treated, both are extremely doubtful for Monday but obviously we'll give them every chance," Bond told the club's website.

"The medical staff are working hard to see if they can get them there."

Bond went on to say that Spurs are waiting to see if Rafael van der Vaart will recover in time to face the Reds after suffering a calf problem against Wigan while Kyle Walker is expected shake off a groin problem to play.
