Andy Gray: 'Everyone's getting carried away with Jurgen Klopp'

Andy Gray warns Liverpool not to get "carried away" with the appointment of new manager Jurgen Klopp.

Andy Gray has warned Liverpool fans not to get too "carried away" with expectations following the arrival of new manager Jurgen Klopp.

The former Borussia Dortmund boss, who left the Bundesliga club after a seven-year spell, was officially appointed by the Premier League club on Thursday night.

After three years without silverware under Brendan Rodgers, who was sacked by Liverpool on Sunday, optimism has returned to Anfield following Klopp's arrival.

"I think everyone is getting a little carried away," Gray told talkSPORT. "They're assuming he's going to walk in, he's going to turn the magic on, he's going to turn Liverpool into what he did at Borussia Dortmund.

"That took a bit of time and it might take a bit of time at Liverpool, but is he the right guy? Absolutely. He has coached and managed under these circumstances at Dortmund for years, his English is very good and he will make them better, but how better, only time will tell."

Klopp won two Bundesliga titles at Dortmund.
