Newcastle's Massadio Haidara: 'Luis Suarez absence would give us boost'

Massadio Haidara insists that Newcastle United can capitalise on the expected absence of Luis Suarez against Liverpool this weekend.

Newcastle United left-back Massadio Haidara has insisted that he and his teammates must make the most of the expected absence of Luis Suarez when they face Liverpool this weekend.

The Uruguay international is likely to be banned for a number of games by the Football Association after biting the arm of Chelsea defender Branislav Ivanovic during a 2-2 draw at Anfield on Sunday.

"Suarez is definitely the difference for Liverpool," Haidara told the Shields Gazette. "I think, without him, they will be a different team.

"He's obviously the focal point for their attack. They do have other quality players as well, but if he isn't playing, that will definitely be a positive thing for us."

The Magpies could extend their six-point gap away from the relegation zone with a victory at St James' Park on Saturday.
