Harry Kane says that "it would be great" to win another Golden Boot, as he attempts to close the five-goal gap on the Premier League's leading scorer Mohamed Salah.

Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane has said that he is confident of catching Liverpool rival Mohamed Salah at the top of the Premier League scoring charts.

The 24-year-old has won the Golden Boot in each of the past two seasons and is now aiming to become the first player since Thierry Henry to make it a hat-trick.

Kane trails Salah by five goals, which he hopes to see reduced to four when the dubious goals committee run the rule over Tottenham's second goal against Stoke City at the weekend - the Englishman appearing to get the slightest of touches to Christian Eriksen's cross.

Speaking to reporters after his side's 2-1 win at the bet365 Stadium, Kane told reporters: "I swear on my daughter's life that I touched the ball, but there's nothing I can do.

"If they turn it around, they turn it around. If they take my word, they take my word. It is what it is - the most important thing is that we won the game.

"I still believe I can [catch Salah]. There are still games to go. I've got to focus on my game. I can't control what he does. Obviously as a striker, it would be great to win the Golden Boot again and I will keep working hard from now until the end of the season."

Kane has six games remaining to overtake Salah, whose Liverpool side have just five matches left to play.
