Dirk Kuyt has spoken of his frustration at a lack of starting opportunities for Liverpool this season.
The recent arrivals of Stewart Downing, Andy Carroll, Luis Suarez and Jordan Henderson has seen the Dutch international fall down the pecking order at Anfield.
Kuyt, who came off the bench to score during Sunday's Carling Cup final, has admitted that he would like to receive more appearances from manager Kenny Dalglish.
"It's not that easy [sitting on the bench]," Kuyt told De Telegraaf. "I am a player who loves to play many games. I prefer to do that for Liverpool, if that's possible.
"It was disappointing that I had to wait so long to come on the pitch. The manager brought me into the extra time."
Kuyt joined Liverpool in 2006 from Feyenoord.
