Lille boss Rudi Garcia hails Joe Cole goal

Lille manager Rudi Garcia has hailed Joe Cole's goal as "international class" after his side's 1-1 draw with Lorient.

The on-loan Liverpool midfielder's drive was the first goal by an Englishman in Ligue 1 since Chris Waddle netted for Marseille in 1992.

"The goal by Joe Cole was international class and it should have sufficed for us to win the game. So much good play, so much effort, and all for just one point," Garcia told reporters.

Cole will return to Anfield at the end of the season.
