Liverpool could reportedly lift the Premier League trophy while wearing a Nike kit with the new £80m-per-year deal set to begin on June 1.

Liverpool could reportedly lift the Premier League trophy in a kit designed by a new sponsor with their £80m-per-year deal with Nike due to begin on June 1.

The Reds are 25 points clear at the top of the league but will not play again until April 5 at the earliest due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Jurgen Klopp's side currently have sported New Balance sponsorship throughout the 2019-20 campaign so far, but may lift the trophy in their new kit if the season does not restart before the summer.

According to The Athletic, Liverpool's deal with Nike officially begins on June 1, meaning they would be obliged to wear Nike kit for any games after that date.

The battle for sponsorship of the European champions got taken all the way to court, where it was ruled that Nike's deal was more lucrative than New Balance's and therefore did not breach the conditions of Liverpool's current contract.

The Premier League are meeting on Thursday to decide how the rest of the season will play out.
