Liverpool reportedly hope to reach a compromise with national FAs over when Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane will join up with their countries for the Africa Cup of Nations.

Liverpool have reportedly scheduled talks about when they will release their players for the Africa Cup of Nations in January.

Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane and Naby Keita are all set to feature at the tournament - which runs from January 9 to February 6 - for Egypt, Senegal and Guinea respectively.

FIFA rules dictate that players should join up with their national teams on December 27, which would mean the Reds trio would miss up to eight club matches depending on how far they progress.

However, according to the Mirror, Jurgen Klopp is hopeful of coming to an agreement with the national FAs to allow Salah, Mane and Keita to stay at Anfield for a week longer until January 3.

The report adds that Klopp has "a good relationship with all three national teams" and is set to hold talks during next month's international break.

Liverpool face Leicester City on December 28 and Chelsea on January 2, meaning it would be a huge boost for the Reds if they were able to keep hold of their players for an extra seven days.
