Premier League champions Liverpool unveil official 2020-21 home kit

Premier League champions Liverpool officially unveil their new Nike home kit for the 2020-21 campaign.

Newly-crowned Premier League champions Liverpool have officially unveiled their new kit for the 2020-21 campaign.

Jurgen Klopp's side have entered a new kit deal with Nike after their relationship with New Balance came to something of an acrimonious end.

Nike's first year with Liverpool will also be the Reds' first year as Premier League champions, having ended a 30-year wait to lift another top-flight title in record-breaking style last season.

"We are very excited to be partnering with a global icon like Liverpool FC. This strategic partnership will reinforce Nike's position as the best and most inclusive football brand in the world," Bert Hoyt of Nike said in a statement.

"As next season kicks off, we look forward to supplying the club and its supporters with innovative, stylish collections while furthering our shared ambition to inspire youth and future generations through brilliant football."

"I've been part of the Nike family for six years and we have an incredible relationship," Virgil van Dijk added in a statement.

"I'm very familiar with the quality of the design and innovation that goes into making a kit like this. Stepping out as champions next season in this kit will be really special."

Liverpool MD and CCO Billy Hogan added: "We talked back in January, when we first announced the new partnership with Nike, about our expectations on them becoming an incredible partner for the club.

"We're so excited to be starting this journey with Nike, the global leader in sports apparel and we look forward to working together to bring performance and lifestyle product to our supporters in the year ahead."

Nike have also committed to supporting a community initiative in Toxteth, including a bursary scheme for a BAME coaching course and a BAME youth leadership forum in partnership with other organisations in the city.

The kit is described as "a celebration of this new relationship. It acknowledges the past, while setting the tone for future collections".

The shirt will be accompanied by the traditional red shorts and socks, although this year's kit is a slightly brighter shade in order to "exude youth and vibrancy, complementing the traditional white and the introduction of teal to the home jersey".
