Former Liverpool midfielder Steve Nicol claims that Mohamed Salah is most frustrating player to watch in the Premier League, despite his unparalleled goal record.

Former Liverpool midfielder Steve Nicol has claimed that Mohamed Salah is the most frustrating player in the league to watch.

The Egyptian winger has won the Golden Boot in both of his two full seasons with the Reds and remains in the mix for a hat-trick of top-scorer awards this season, currently sitting on 16 for the campaign in the Premier League.

Salah's strike against Bournemouth in Liverpool's last league outing before football was postponed made it three seasons in a row in which he has scored 20 goals across all competitions, becoming the first Liverpool player since Michael Owen in 2003 to achieve that feat.

However, Nicol believes that Liverpool's winning form this season has helped to cover up Salah's form, which he believes is the most frustrating in the division.

"Winning is the deodorant of the game, but it covers all bad smells. Winning covers a lot of bad things," the former Liverpool man told ESPN.

"You can say it with Salah. Salah's form this season, is there a guy that frustrates you more in the Premier League or anyone else with the things he does in a game?

"Then all of a sudden he will produce something. So you could say the same about him as well. But again, he plays every game and why? Because they win."

Salah has now scored 70 goals in his first 100 Premier League games for Liverpool - a club record for the top flight.
