Report: Brendan Rodgers to use Luis Suarez as winger

Brendan Rodgers will use Luis Suarez in a wide role for Liverpool, and continue to employ Daniel Sturridge as his central striker, when the Uruguayan returns from suspension.

Brendan Rodgers will apparently use forward Luis Suarez on the Liverpool flanks when the Uruguayan returns from his eight-match suspension.

The 26-year-old, who scored 30 goals in 45 appearances for the Reds in the 2012-2013 campaign, still has two matches to serve of a ban issued for his biting of Chelsea's Branislav Ivanovic last season.

However, when he is available again, The Guardian understands that Rodgers will employ him in an unfamiliar wide role in order to accommodate both Suarez and Daniel Sturridge in his starting XI.

The Liverpool manager reportedly sees Sturridge, who has netted in each of his side's three 1-0 Premier League victories so far this season, as 'immovable' from the central striker position.

He plans to use Suarez off the left wing, and shift Brazilian playmaker Phillipe Coutinho inside to play the number 10 role behind Sturridge, according to the same source.
