New Manchester City signing Raheem Sterling has revealed his disappointment with how his Anfield exit was handled.
The England international officially joined City for £49m on Tuesday, having asked to be left off Liverpool's pre-season tour of Thailand last week after missing two days of training through apparent illness.
Sterling is quoted as saying in the Liverpool Echo: "I was a bit disappointed how I left. That was the main problem I've had with the situation – how I've left it with Liverpool.
"I'm good with everyone at the football club, the manager, the players and I wish them well for the new season. But it was really disappointing how it did finish off."
Sterling's switch made him the most expensive British player of all time.
