Sterling wants Champions League football

Liverpool winger Raheem Sterling has insisted that his side can finish in the top four and qualify for the Champions League next season.

The Reds enjoyed a decent first campaign with Brendan Rodgers in charge, and Sterling believes that they can take many positives away from their seventh-placed finish.

However, the 18-year-old wants the Merseysiders to push on and believes that Europe's elite competition isn't beyond their reach.

Asked where they could realistically aim to finish, Sterling replied: "I'd say top four, definitely.

"As we ended the season we can see how strong the team has become. Hopefully we can get a good start to the season and just maintain that."

Sterling scored two goals in 36 appearances for Liverpool last season.
