Liverpool could approach Louis van Gaal to become the club's new sporting director, according to reports.
The Dutchman is a reported target for the Reds as they look to shake up their management structure.
It is believed that the new role would be similar to the one occupied by Damien Comolli before his departure in April.
According to The Guardian, Van Gaal, who has been without employment since being sacked as manager of Bayern Munich in 2011, would be open to move to Merseyside.
