Preview: Liverpool vs. Arsenal

Liverpool and Arsenal go head to head at Anfield on Saturday as both sides fight for fourth place in the Premier League.

The battle for fourth place in the Premier League heats up this weekend as Liverpool and Arsenal go head to head at Anfield.

The biggest question mark over the fixture is whether Reds captain Steven Gerrard will be declared fit enough to play after leaving the field just 30 minutes into England's 3-2 defeat to the Netherlands at Wembley last night.

If the Liverpool talisman continues to struggle with a hamstring strain then Kenny Dalglish could enlist the services of Jay Spearing in midfield.

Jamie Carragher is expected to come into the fold due to a rib injury sustained by Daniel Agger during the Reds' Carling Cup final victory on Sunday.

Craig Bellamy could find himself on the bench after competing in Wales's tribute match to the late Gary Speed.

Meanwhile, Arsene Wenger is likely to be without injured midfielder Aaron Ramsey, which could make way for former Liverpool playmaker Yossi Benayoun.

Robin van Persie is expected to start up front after playing 45 minutes against England yesterday, while Tomas Rosicky could miss out due to a back problem.
