Liverpool striker Danny Ings is named to start against Aston Villa alongside Daniel Sturridge, while the visitors name midweek goalscorer Rudy Gestede to start.

Liverpool striker Danny Ings has been named to start up front against Aston Villa this afternoon alongside Daniel Sturridge, after scoring two goals in two appearances over the past week.

Christian Benteke misses out after picking up an injury in his side's draw with Norwich City last weekend, while Roberto Firmino is also absent after getting injured in the League Cup clash with Carlisle United this week.

Simon Mignolet, Mamadou Sakho, Lucas Leiva and Philippe Coutinho return to the starting XI after missing out in Wednesday's cup tie.

Visitors Aston Villa have named midweek goalscorer Rudy Gestede to start, while Gabriel Agbonlahor is dropped from the team that lost 1-0 to West Bromwich Albion last weekend.

Idrissa Gueye returns from injury to replace Carles Gil in the starting XI.
