Simon Mignolet, Kolo Toure and Iago Aspas are included in the Reds' first XI, while fellow new boy Luis Alberto, is on the bench.

Luis Suarez is not included in the matchday squad, but the Uruguayan will be at Anfield as a spectator.

Meanwhile, £3m-buy Erik Pieters starts at left-back for the Potters. The visitors' other recent addition to the playing staff - Marc Muniesa - is on the bench.
