Martin Skrtel's agent Karol Csonto has confirmed that the defender will sit down with Liverpool to discuss the club's future plans.
The Slovakian centre-back is believed to be seeking assurances on the Merseyside outfit's ambitions following a dismal Premier League season, where Kenny Dalglish's side finished eighth in the table.
"Some changes have been made at the club and the player wants to know what the aims and ambitions are," Csonto told The Independent. "We want to discuss with Liverpool what they want and, of course, we will discuss the issue of Martin's new contract.
"You cannot say Liverpool won't play in the Champions League. It is a big club and because they haven't made it this year doesn't mean they would not next. There are expectations on both sides, though."
Meanwhile, Dalglish has insisted that the club are not looking to sell any players this summer.
