A report claims that Lloris Karius is to join Besiktas on an initial two-year loan move that can be made permanent, bringing an end to his Liverpool nightmare.

Liverpool goalkeeper Loris Karius will reportedly leave the club by the end of the week for a two-year loan spell with Turkish giants Besiktas.

The German stopper is being given the chance to exit Anfield following his nightmare end to last season, which saw him make a couple of high-profile blunders in the Champions League final loss to Real Madrid.

Reds boss Jurgen Klopp has constantly defended the 25-year-old over the summer, but the £67m arrival of Alisson Becker from Roma last month was a clear sign that Karius's time on Merseyside is up.

Besiktas have been strongly tipped to move for the former Mainz 05 keeper, and The Mirror suggests that a deal has now been struck between the Super Lig side and Liverpool.

As part of the initial loan deal, which could be made permanent in 2020, the Reds will supposedly receive a £2.25m up front fee.

Karius will pen a new deal at Anfield before departing for Turkey to ensure that the Merseysiders do not lose him on a free contract.
