Fabio Borini: 'Return to Sunderland is a possibility'

Fabio Borini admits that "anything is possible" ahead of the final game in his loan spell with Sunderland.

Fabio Borini has admitted that he could return to Sunderland next season as he prepares to play the final game of his loan spell at the club.

The Italian forward has impressed since joining on a temporary deal from Liverpool last summer, but he claims that Brendan Rodgers has not yet made a decision as to whether he will be needed at Anfield in their next campaign.

"Anything is possible," Borini told the media. "It depends on what Liverpool say. They will need a bigger squad because you can't play in four competitions with the same 11 players.

"But I've enjoyed every second here. It's been great from the fans, the city and everyone at Sunderland, the love and friendship that they have given me throughout the season has been incredible."

Borini scored as Sunderland secured their Premier League status for another season by beating West Bromwich Albion on Wednesday.
