Genk sporting director Dimitri De Conde has suggested that Liverpool will closely monitor the progress of midfielder Sander Berge ahead of next summer.
The 21-year-old has impressed many since making his debut for the Belgian side in 2016 and was one of the club's standout players in back-to-back Champions League games against Liverpool this season.
Reports have suggested that Napoli are leading the race for the youngster, who is valued at around £18m.
De Conde told Radio Punto Nuovo: "If Napoli has already blocked Berge? I read it and it's not like that. Napoli are interested in Sander and it's a possibility.
"We also know Liverpool follow him carefully. [Jurgen] Klopp spoke to the boy after the Anfield game, congratulating him on the performance."
Berge has a contract that expires in the summer of 2021 and Genk are determined to keep the player until next summer.
Reports have stated that Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal are also keeping a close eye on the Norway international.
