Steven Gerrard 'to earn £20m in Major League Soccer'

Steven Gerrard will reportedly earn £20m by moving to Major League Soccer, with Los Angeles Galaxy leading the race for his signature.

Steven Gerrard will reportedly be offered a contract worth around £20m to move to Major League Soccer this summer.

The Reds captain has confirmed that he will be leaving Liverpool at the end of the season after 17 years with the Merseyside club.

According to The Mirror, Los Angeles Galaxy are prepared to offer the 34-year-old £100,000 a week to move to California as the MLS champions seek a replacement for former US international Landon Donovan.

Toronto FC and New York Red Bulls, who have ex-Liverpool manager Gerard Houllier as their sporting director, are said to be competing for the player's signature.

However, reports suggest that a deal with the Galaxy has already been agreed.

Gerrard made his Liverpool debut against Blackburn Rovers in 1998.
