Liverpool have agreed a fee of £7.7m with Celta Vigo for their striker Iago Aspas.
The 25-year-old Spaniard had been linked with a move to Merseyside by a number of sources, but the Liverpool Echo reports that Brendan Rodgers has wrapped up a deal to bring him to the club.
Aspas has scored 12 goals in 33 appearances in La Liga this season and will stay with Celta Vigo for their final match against Espanyol on Saturday, which they must win to stay up, before moving to Anfield.
If Celta Vigo are relegated, Aspas's buy-out clause would have dropped to £6m, but Rodgers has moved quickly to secure the signing of the striker.
Aspas is yet to make an appearance for the Spanish national team.
