Liverpool are reportedly considering a move to sign Brazilian defender Douglas on a free transfer this summer.
The 25-year-old has been consistently linked with a move to the Premier League in recent seasons, with Newcastle United previously scouting the central defender on more than one occasion.
Douglas is out of contract in the summer at FC Twente and the possibility of a free transfer has alerted Reds boss Brendan Rodgers, according to the Daily Mail.
Rodgers has prioritised signing a central defender in the close season, with Jamie Carragher retiring and Martin Skrtel a peripheral figure at Anfield in recent months.
Douglas has played in the Netherlands for more than six years, amassing more than 150 appearances in all competitions for Twente during that time.
