Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers has reportedly turned his attention to Guilherme Siqueira in the search for a new full-back.
Rodgers has been frustrated in his bid to provide Luis Enrique with competition for places at left-back, with deals for Aly Cissokho and Lorenzo Melgarejo proving difficult to close.
Granada defender Siqueira has now become the latest player to make Liverpool's summer shortlist in a problem position, with the Reds making a formal enquiry for the Brazilian last weekend, according to the Liverpool Echo.
No fee has been agreed for the 27-year-old at this stage, but Granada are thought to be open to selling Siqueira for around £6m.
The Reds are confident that they could acquire a work permit for the former Real Madrid target before the transfer window closes in three weeks' time.
Siqueira has spent four seasons with Granada but with rumoured interest from Everton earlier this summer stated that he wanted to find a new club.
