Liverpool are reportedly considering whether to make an approach for Leicester City playmaker James Maddison.
Although the Foxes have endured a disappointing campaign in the Premier League, Maddison has arguably enjoyed the best season of his career.
The 26-year-old has contributed nine goals and five assists for a struggling team in the top flight, a return which helped earn a place in England's World Cup squad.
Maddison failed to make an appearance for the Three Lions in Qatar, and injury has contributed to the Foxes star struggling to replicate his pre-tournament form since the turn of the year.
Nevertheless, Maddison remains admired by a number of the division's top clubs, particularly at a time when he has less than 16 months remaining on his contract.

With Leicester out of the equation for European qualification and Maddison having ambitions to play on the continent, a renewal appears out of the question.
Should that prove to be the case, the East Midlands outfit will realistically look to sell for the highest fee possible in the summer, keen to avoid losing another key player on a free transfer like what is likely to happen with Youri Tielemans.
According to Football Insider, Liverpool are monitoring any developments with Maddison's future ahead of the summer transfer window.
While Jurgen Klopp is well stocked for options in the final third, departures are expected in the summer, including that of Roberto Firmino.

Ahead of a refresh in central midfield, Klopp could theoretically look to spend funds in other positions than in the final third, but there is said to be 'active interest' in Maddison.
The report adds that a proposal in the region of £60m may be enough to tempt Leicester into a sale, although it is plausible that they may have to lower their demands at some stage.
Manchester City, Tottenham Hotspur and Newcastle United are also said to be admirers of Maddison, the latter allegedly already having at least one bid rejected in the last two transfer windows.
Since moving to the King Power Stadium in 2018, Maddison has contributed 54 goals and 37 assists from his 191 appearances in all competitions.
