Liverpool reportedly make an initial enquiry to Barcelona over the availability of winger Ousmane Dembele this summer.

Liverpool have reportedly made contact with Barcelona to determine whether Ousmane Dembele is for sale this summer.

Recent speculation has claimed that the Spanish champions could be forced into selling the French winger due to Financial Fair Play rules if they want to bring both Antoine Griezmann and Neymar to the Camp Nou this summer.

A player-plus-cash deal which would see Dembele join Paris Saint-Germain and Neymar move in the opposite direction has been mooted, but France Football reports that Liverpool have made an initial enquiry about the 22-year-old's availability.

Reds boss Jurgen Klopp is known to be a long-term admirer of Dembele and could consider an approach should he become available, despite being happy with the current options at his disposal at Anfield.

However, Liverpool are likely to face stiff competition from German champions Bayern Munich, who are already understood to have seen a £62m bid rejected by Barcelona.

The Catalan outfit remain reluctant to lose Dembele, whose contract does not expire until 2022, but face the prospect of needing to raise almost £200m in player sales should Griezmann and Neymar both join.
