Liverpool plot Manuel Iturra swoop?

Liverpool reportedly eye a summer swoop for Malaga's Chilean midfielder Manuel Iturra, who is out of contract in June.

Liverpool are plotting a move to sign Chilean midfielder Manuel Iturra on a free transfer this summer, according to reports.

Iturra is out of contract at Malaga in June and is free to talk to teams about his future despite the Spanish club opening negotiations over a new deal.

The 28-year-old is a firm fixture in Manuel Pellegrini's side and has made 17 appearances in all competitions this season.

Malaga are in a precarious financial position and have already lost key players to the Premier League this season, with Santi Cazorla and Nacho Monreal both signing for Arsenal.

Reds boss Brendan Rodgers is believed to be keen on Iturra's mix of defensive nous and ability in possession and will continue to monitor the midfielder's availability.
