Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers has reportedly identified Asmir Begovic as the ideal goalkeeper to replace Pepe Reina, should the Spaniard join Barcelona this summer.
It has been widely claimed that Spanish international Reina is Barca's top choice to replace Victor Valdes, who confirmed earlier this year that he would not be extending his contract at Camp Nou.
That has prompted Rodgers to seek an alternative just in case and he has made Stoke City's Begovic his number one target, according to The Mirror.
The report went on to suggest that Rodgers would be willing to offer winger Stewart Downing to the Potters as part of the deal.
Begovic has previously been linked with the likes of Manchester United, Manchester City and Arsenal.
