Premier League side Liverpool are reportedly hoping to tempt Klaas-Jan Huntelaar to England over the coming months.
The Dutch centre-forward's current deal with German side Schalke 04 is due to expire in the summer, which means that he is free to discuss terms with other clubs in January.
With that in mind, Schalke would consider parting with the 29-year-old if they were to receive a suitable offer in January, according to talkSPORT.
That is said to have alerted Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers, who is keen to take some of the goalscoring burden off of Luis Suarez.
Huntelaar found the net during Schalke's 2-0 win over Arsenal in the Champions League last week.
