Liverpool reportedly reject a bid from Basel for young striker Liam Millar, who is set to depart Anfield this summer in search of regular first-team football.

Liverpool have reportedly rejected a bid from Basel for young striker Liam Millar, who is expected to depart Anfield this summer.

The 21-year-old made his senior debut for the Reds in an FA Cup tie against Shrewsbury in early 2020, and gained more first-team experience while on loan at Charlton Athletic last season.

Millar made 27 appearances for the League One outfit during the 2020-21 campaign, and managed three goals and six assists as the side just missed out on a playoff spot to Oxford United on goal difference.

According to Goal, the Premier League giants rejected a bid from Basel but they are expected to return to the table this week with a revised offer.

Liverpool are believed to be demanding a fee in excess of £1m for the youngster, who has also attracted interest from Blackpool, Odense and New York Red Bulls.

Millar has been capped 11 times by Canada and is currently away on international duty for World Cup qualifiers.
