Liverpool reportedly have no intention of selling Real Madrid-linked Trent Alexander-Arnold, but they have placed a price-tag on the defender should he decide to leave the club.

Liverpool reportedly have no intention of selling Real Madrid-linked Trent Alexander-Arnold, but they have placed a price-tag on the defender should he decide to leave the club.

The Merseyside-born 25-year-old has been with the Reds since the age of six and had made a total of 310 appearances for the club across all tournaments since and including his senior debut in 2016.

Alexander-Arnold has scored 19 goals and registered 81 assists as a Liverpool player and has won a total of eight trophies with the club, including the Premier League, Champions League, FA Cup and two EFL Cups.

The England international was experimented in a midfield role for his country at Euro 2024, but he has enjoyed the vast majority of his success operating as a creative right-back under former boss Jurgen Klopp.

Arne Slot has since taken the reins at Anfield and Alexander-Arnold is expected to be a key figure in Liverpool's plans going forward under their new head coach.

Liverpool keen to keep hold of Alexander-Arnold

However, speculation continues to swirl surrounding the long-term future of Alexander-Arnold, who has now entered the final year of his contract with the Reds.

A recent report claims that long-term admirers Real Madrid have a 'concrete' interest in signing the right-back this summer and they are 'in contact' with the Liverpool star over a potential transfer to the Santiago Bernabeu.

According to TEAMtalk, Real Madrid are sensing an opportunity to lure Alexander-Arnold away from his boyhood club and believe that the opportunity is there for them to 'pounce' on the situation.

The report adds that Liverpool are yet to open discussions with their No.66 or his agent over a new contract, but they are keen to retain the services of the academy graduate and fend off interest from potential suitors.

Liverpool to sell TAA this summer if he rebuffs contract extension?

Liverpool intend to tie down Alexander-Arnold to a new deal and a 'ridiculous' offer would need to be received to entertain the sale of the defender.

However, it is claimed that Liverpool could look for as much as €80m (£67m) to cash in on Alexander-Arnold this summer if he makes it clear that he will not extend his contract, as the Reds do not wish to see the right-back leave for free in 2025.

Real Madrid are believed to have identified Alexander-Arnold as a long-term successor to Dani Carvajal, who has just a year left on his contract with the Spanish giants.

Fellow 32-year-old Lucas Vazquez is another right-back at Carlo Ancelotti's disposal after he put pen to paper on a new one-year deal on Thursday.

Real Madrid already have one Englishman on their books in the form of Jude Bellingham, while their marquee signing of the summer is none other than French superstar Kylian Mbappe, who was formally unveiled as a new Los Blancos player earlier this week.
