Ryan Gravenberch has said that he is "satisfied" with his first season at Liverpool and hopes to stay at the club "for years to come".

After one frustrating season at Bayern Munich, where he struggled for regular game time, Gravenberch joined Liverpool last summer for a reported £34m.

The 22-year-old made a bright start to his Anfield career and forced his way into Jurgen Klopp's first team, before an injury picked up in the EFL Cup final hindered his progress during the second half of the campaign.

Nevertheless, Gravenberch made a total of 38 appearances, including 21 starts, for the Reds across all competitions, contributing with four goals and two assists from midfield.

Following the arrival of Arne Slot as Klopp's successor in the dugout, Gravenberch has somewhat surprisingly been linked with a possible exit from Liverpool this summer.

Gravenberch planning to stay at Liverpool under Slot

However, Gravenberch is planning to build on what he believes has been a successful first season on a personal level at Liverpool and is looking forward to working under Dutch compatriot Slot.

"That's why I'm satisfied with my season at Liverpool (after lack of game time at Bayern)," Gravenberch told Dutch newspaper Algemeen Dagblad. "I wanted to make more minutes and I succeeded.

"I have played good matches, but also lesser ones. No, I'm not as tired as I am after a season where you've played everything. I haven't played everything.

"Can that freshness be an advantage? Well, I'm ready if you ask me. Anyway, first let's be part of the final selection."

Gravenberch added: "[I am at] a top club, I hope to play here for years to come, and soon [I will be with] Dutch trainer Arne Slot.

"No, I've never spoken to him. Not even during my time as an Ajax player, but he is a trainer who likes attacking football. That should suit me, you would think. We will see."

Gravenberch addresses Ronald Koeman fallout

Gravenberch is now planning to represent the Netherlands at Euro 2024 after being selected in Ronald Koeman's preliminary squad.

There were doubts over whether the midfielder would receive a call-up after he withdrew from Under-21s duty last September to focus on his start to life at Liverpool - a decision which angered Koeman at the time.

Gravenberch has since opened up on the fallout, confirming that he has spoken to Koeman and now considered the matter closed.

"At that moment I thought it was necessary," the midfielder explained. "I had a conversation with Ronald Koeman and I think it is closed. It will no longer play a role, otherwise the national coach will not call me for this internship, I think.

"I haven't booked a summer holiday yet. We will wait until the final selection. It's been a long time since I was here. I don't even remember exactly when I last took action.

"A minute against Belgium in September 2022? Go figure. But I'm back, that's the most important thing. And I'm still the Ryan Gravenberch from back then. The qualities are the same. And I want to show that here."

Gravenberch, who did not feature in any of the Netherlands' Euro 2024 qualifiers, has earned 11 senior international caps, with his last start dating back to June 2021 in a group-stage win over North Macedonia at Euro 2020.
