Kevin Phillips: 'Thomas Ince should stay at Blackpool'

Kevin Phillips advises his Blackpool teammate Thomas Ince to stay with the Championship club amid reports of a move to Liverpool.

Kevin Phillips has told his Blackpool teammate Thomas Ince that he should think twice about moving to the Premier League.

The 20-year-old forward could reportedly make a return to Liverpool in January after leaving Anfield 18 months ago.

However, Phillips believes that Ince should stay with the Championship side in order to improve his game.

"For me, if I was Tom Ince, I would want to stay at the club for the rest of the season, keep learning my trade, keep scoring goals and keep putting in performances. He'll get his move," the former England striker told Sky Sports News.

"More than likely, he's going to go to a Premier League club and sit on the bench between now and the end of the season."

Ince has scored 13 goals in 21 games for the Seasiders during the current campaign.
