Real Madrid have shown no interest in signing Raheem Sterling from Liverpool this summer, according to reports.
The England international has been the subject of intense speculation in recent months following a public dispute with Liverpool over his contract.
The youngster is not expected to sign a new deal at Anfield, leaving the Reds to contemplate cutting their losses before his current contract expires in 2016.
A host of Europe's top clubs, including Madrid, Manchester City and Bayern Munich, have been linked with the 20-year-old, but respected Spanish journalist Guillem Balague has played down the possibility of a move to the Spanish capital.
"Real Madrid have got no interest whatsoever in Sterling. I imagine Sterling/agent might be interested in Real Madrid though," Balague wrote on Twitter.
Madrid are expected to announce the appointment of former Liverpool boss Rafael Benitez as their new manager tomorrow morning.
