Pepe Reina agent confirms Liverpool stay

Pepe Reina's agent confirms that the goalkeeper will spend the 2014-15 campaign with parent club Liverpool.

The agent of Liverpool goalkeeper Pepe Reina has confirmed that his client will remain at Anfield beyond the summer transfer window.

Reina, who spent last season on loan with Napoli, has two years remaining on his contract with the Reds but has been linked with moves away from Merseyside.

Barcelona and Atletico Madrid were reportedly keen on the shot-stopper, but his representative claims that he will be challenging Simon Mignolet for the number one shirt at Liverpool for the 2014-15 campaign.

"I know rumours are circulating about Reina's future. But I can confirm that next season Pepe will play for Liverpool," Manuel Garcia Quillon told Tuttonapoli.it.

"Reina will respect his deal with the English side."

The 31-year-old's existing deal expires in 2016.
