Brendan Rodgers 'axes six from Liverpool squad'

Manager Brendan Rodgers will try to offload six Liverpool players this week, according to a report.

Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers will axe six players from his squad this week as he makes room for his new signings.

The Reds have been busy in the early part of the transfer window, with Nathaniel Clyne expected to agree personal terms on Merseyside this week.

However, the Daily Star suggests that Rodgers will remove several players as part of a drastic overhaul of his squad.

Among those who could leave is Sebastian Coates, who is expected to join Sunderland this week for a fee £4m.

Mario Balotelli, Rickie Lambert, Fabio Borini, Jose Enrique and Luis Alberto are also set to be shown the door.
