Brendan Rodgers has "categorically" ruled out the prospect of Liverpool making a bid for AC Milan striker Mario Balotelli during this summer's transfer window.
There had been speculation that the Reds could be preparing to bring the Italian international to Anfield after the manager described him as a "big talent".
However, Rodgers told The Mirror: "I was asked the question about Balotelli and spoke about what a talent he is and excellent player he is.
"I can categorically tell you that he will not be at Liverpool. He is a wonderful player, but an AC Milan player. I just gave my opinion of him, but that doesn't mean I will be signing him."
Liverpool beat Balotelli and his teammates last night to reach the final of the International Champions Cup.
