Rodgers relaxed about Sterling's future

Liverpool coach Brendan Rodgers has played down any danger of youngster Raheem Sterling moving to one of Europe's elite clubs.

The England international has been linked with moves to both Real Madrid and Bayern Munich, but Rodgers has insisted that he is relaxed about the winger's future with the Anfield side.

"We are a club trying to build something. We were on a path for a couple of years and, of course, we've had to come off that path since the summer, to regroup again, really," Rodgers said, according to The Metro.

"I'm quite relaxed about it. I'm sure we can get a deal done. He's the type of boy, he leaves his representatives to work with the club in order to hopefully organise the deal. He has no real influence in that."

Liverpool currently occupy 11th position in the Premier League table on 21 points.
