West Bromwich Albion have reportedly opened talks to sign Liverpool striker Taiwo Awoniyi, amid interest from Stoke City also.
The 23-year-old joined Liverpool in 2015 but has only just qualified for a UK work permit, meaning that he has spent his first six years with the Reds away from Anfield on loans.
Awoniyi's most recent loan spell was with Union Berlin in the Bundesliga during the 2020-21 campaign, when he scored five goals and provided four assists in 22 appearances for the club.
Birmingham Live reports that the Baggies are keen to sign the Nigeria forward and add to their attacking disposal, which already consists of Karlan Grant, Kenneth Zohore and Callum Robinson.
New boss at the Hawthorns Valerien Ismael has already made his first signing with the club, bringing in former Barnsley captain Alex Mowatt on a free transfer.
Awoniyi's contract at Anfield runs until 2023, after he initially came through the Imperial Soccer Academy in his home country.
