Liverpool defender Dejan Lovren has reportedly emerged as a transfer target for Russian Premier League champions Zenit St Petersburg.
The Croatia international still has one year left to run on his contract at Anfield but has struggled to nail down a regular place in the heart of Jurgen Klopp's defence this season.
Virgil van Dijk, Joe Gomez and Joel Matip have often been preferred to Lovren during Liverpool's triumphant 2019-20 Premier League campaign, leading to suggestions that the 31-year-old could seek pastures new this summer.
According to the Evening Standard, Zenit have identified Lovren as a potential signing and are keen to strike a deal for the centre-back prior to the 2020-21 season.
The report claims that while the two clubs have not begun talks over a proposed transfer, Liverpool would be open to selling Lovren for the right price.
Lovren has turned out just 10 times for the Reds in the league this term and has only played 17 minutes of football since the English top flight returned in June.
